What We're All About

Diversity

Hillel Montreal is a Jewish student organization that represents the needs of the diverse Jewish student population in Montreal. Hillel Montreal is responsible and committed to creating a vibrant, innovative and exciting campus life for Jewish CEGEP and university students. Hillel Montreal aims to create an atmosphere of openness where all students feel welcome and comfortable to actively participate in programming or attend events.

Leadership

Hillel Montreal is a student run, student led organization. Students work hard to develop innovative and fun programs, as well as taking key roles in community issues. Through their involvement, students gain invaluable experience in leadership, teamwork, community responsibility, fundraising and marketing.

Jewish Pride

Hillel Montreal is committed to fostering Jewish pride through creative activities and programs involving Jewish learning and promoting Jewish values and identity. Hillel runs Shabbat and Jewish holiday programming throughout the year.

Israel Affairs

Hillel Montreal supports the democratic State of Israel. Hillel’s advocacy wing develops ways influence public opinion, influence public leaders and make things comfortable for Jewish students on campus. Hillel’s Israel culture wing promotes Israeli culture through educational seminars, food, festivals and other programs.

Social Action

Hillel Montreal recognizes its responsibility to the Montreal community. Hillel is dedicated to transforming campus life through community partnership, advocacy, awareness, volunteering, and education. Framed by the Jewish imperative of tikkun olam (‘fixing the world’), Hillel engages and empowers students in meaningful public service and social justice work. Hillel organizes programming involved with the poor, handicapped, elderly and the environment. Hillel is affiliated with numerous causes such as Dans La Rue, Just For Kids Foundation, One Family and breast cancer research just to name a few.

Fun

The Hillel House is a great place to socialize, hangout, mix and mingle. The Hillel House is fully loaded with a restaurant (featuring a delicious North American and Israeli grill priced for the student budget), lounge with big screen TV, comfy couches and a library with free internet and computers. Hillel organizes many parties (such as our legendary Purim Party), BBQs and many other fun activities for students.
